As the UI Designer and Full-stack Developer at PT. Omid Health Style, I undertook the task of designing and developing an efficient e-commerce website that not only showcases their diverse range of products but also streamlines the purchasing process for customers. The project aimed to replace outdated manual processes for managing products and orders with a comprehensive and user-friendly online platform.
Objectives
- Create a comprehensive CRUD System for products.
- Integrate Rajaongkir API to enable order tracking.
The Problem
PT. Omid Health Style faced operational inefficiencies with its manual processes for product management and order tracking. The existing method of maintaining products through a centralized Excel file proved cumbersome, and order tracking via WhatsApp was time-consuming for the administrative team.
The Process
1. Design Phase:
- Created a design system to ensure consistency and a seamless user experience.
- Designed UI mockups using Figma, focusing on intuitive navigation, responsive layout, and a visually appealing interface.
2. Development Phase::
- Utilized HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap to build the frontend of the e-commerce website.
- Employed PHP with CodeIgniter 3 framework for backend development, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Implemented a user-friendly product management system with CRUD functionality, allowing easy addition, deletion, and modification of products and their details.
- Integrated Rajaongkir API to provide real-time order tracking and shipping information, enhancing customer transparency and satisfaction.
- Developed a custom dashboard for registered customers, enabling them to track orders, manage wishlists, and streamline their shopping experience.
- Designed and implemented an admin dashboard equipped with CRUD operations for users, products, and blog content, as well as real-time sales and product trend monitoring.
Outcome
The implementation of the new e-commerce platform yielded several positive outcomes:
